Black Friday Shopping with a Twist

Posted by: Christina  /  Category: Uncategorized

I’m in total denial that the holidays will be upon us very soon. Right now we’re enjoying the changing leaf colors, cooler weather, and our apple picking trips. I can’t be bothered to think about holiday shopping.

I am definitely not one of those superwoman-moms who have their shopping done by October 1st and wrapped by Halloween. That’s too much pressure! I have bought my nephew’s gift already (even saved 40% with a coupon!) but that’s only because we got into a lengthy discussion in August about this particular gift so it was already on my mind. For the other kids in our family, I still need to think of more ideas.

My husband is the “Black Friday” shopper in our household. He gets up early during the summer to play golf so this isn’t much different, except he’s dealing with nutty people at the malls, pushing and cursing at each other to get the latest and greatest toy. He really has it down to a science because he’s methodical and KNOWS what he wants to purchase and then leaves quickly. I wouldn’t survive “Black Friday” because I usually need to browse a bit before an idea hits me. Certainly I’d be a trampled carcus left in some aisle of a store if I were to venture out on “Black Friday”.

I’m thinking that maybe we’ll have a competition this year because I discovered this great website, Black-Friday.net, that offers the black friday sales fliers PRIOR to Thanksgiving, so you can actually browse online to get some ideas for holiday gifts. These fliers are for a multitude of well-known stores and you can even SHOP online ON BLACK FRIDAY!! No more fighting for parking spaces or dealing with rude people!

You can see the sales ads right now if you click on your favorite store but the direct links are not set up yet. According to the site they will have direct links set up but I guess those won’t be available until “Black Friday”. Makes sense!

They have a link to Walmart and even on a regular day, I despise going to that store. I  know they have the best discounted prices but it’s a pain in the tuckus to get out of there. This website will be worth it’s weight in gold if I can actually find Walmart deals online without having to set foot in the store!

I’m going to enjoy shopping in my bathrobe!
