- Find the goal of the task – are you teaching them skills so they can be self-sufficient? Learn a specific skill? Need to know it for necessity?
- Find the reason – future life, may not have a dishwasher or be poor or learn gratitude and patience
- Find the how – teach them alongside you, how to lather soap, how to dry and put away dishes, pick days or meals, occasions and soaking dishes vs. hand wash, multi-year process. Take the time, even though it takes MORE time to explain. Give them the why and show them how.
