Here are just some of the homeschool texts and resources we have used to help our curriculum grow as we teach.

What curriculum you choose defines your homeschool style..

For our family, choosing curriculum was a mixture of trial and error as well as using what we already knew from growing up. My husband used Math-U-See when he was homeschooled and enjoyed it. I was homeschooled for one year and had no curriculum. My “curriculum” was all self-created by my parents. We have used this experience to combine our two backgrounds in homeschool life to choose the curriculum we want for our kids.

Change and flexibility is okay…

Over the years we have refined and changed what we use. We have also had many “duh” moments when it comes to the resources at hand. Typically you will find that companies such as Apologia and Math-U-See already have all the text books, workbooks and resources you need. We love the way these books are designed for you to have a successful and thorough teaching of a concept.

However, the great part about homeschooling is you can decide what you want. The flexibility is yours. For us, we slowly modified and added in curriculum texts over time. We added resources to our schedule as we became more comfortable in our homeschool education journey.

There’s no wrong choice in curriculum and you can always modify…
